Dr. Erika Schwartz, M.D.– Founding Director

Erika T. Schwartz, M.D. is the leading national expert in the field of bioidentical hormone therapies, wellness and true disease prevention. She has authored four best-selling books, is an Extra Lifechanger, bylined in the Wall Street Journal, international speaker and TV personality.

A cum laude graduate, AOA honor society member, from SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, Dr. Erika trained at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, NY in Internal Medicine and Critical Care. Upon completion of her postgraduate training, at the age of 28, Dr. Erika became the first woman and youngest doctor to be named Director of Emergency Medicine at Westchester County Medical Center- New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY.

Since the start of her distinguished career, Dr. Erika has been committed to empowering patients and teaching physicians compassion alongside with scientific and clinical information.

Dr. Erika has lectured at Harvard, authored the seminal article on the use of hormones in wellness and disease prevention in the prestigious peer reviewed publication Medical Clinics.

She is a founding director of the not for profit Bioidentical Hormone Initiative and a senior faculty member of the Bioidentical Hormone Institute.

David Brownstein, M.D.– Founding Director

David Brownstein, M.D., a board-certified family physician, is medical director of the Center for Holistic Medicine in West Bloomfield, Mich., and one of the foremost practitioners of holistic medicine in the United States.

Dr. Brownstein has lectured internationally to physicians and others about his success in using natural hormone and nutritional therapies in his practice. He has authored seven books which illustrate his success in treating different treatments.

Kent Holtorf, M.D.– Founding Director

Kent Holtorf, M.D. is an expert in bioidentical hormone replacement and optimization for women and men, as well as in endocrinology, thyroid dysfunction, adrenal insufficiency, growth hormone replacement, chronic fatigue and other fatigue syndromes, fibromyalgia and multiple endocrine dysfunction.

He is the medical director of the Holtorf Medical Group, Inc. and is a diplomate and board examiner of the American Board of Anti-Aging Medicine (ABAAM). As a board examiner, Dr. Holtorf administers the oral portion of the board exam and evaluates physician responses to determine board certification.

Dr. Holtorf received his doctorate of medicine from St. Louis University, with residency training at UCLA. He has personally trained physicians across the country in the use of bioidentical hormones, as well as in the treatment of hypothyroidism, complex endocrine dysfunction, and innovative treatments of chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia.


Louis Cregler, M.D.– Director, Bioidentical Hormone Institute

Louis L. Cregler, M.D., F.A.C.P., F.A.C.C. is a board-certified internist, tenured professor of medicine, with many years of accomplishment as an educator and senior-level administrator in academic medical centers and university teaching hospitals. Dr. Cregler is listed in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in American Education and Who's Who in Medicine and Health Care. He is committed to advancing the continuum of medical education from pre-college through post-graduate continuing medical education and fostering a student-centered life-long learning environment.

Dr. Cregler received his medical degree from the State University of New York, Health Science Center at Brooklyn, College of Medicine. He is a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, American College of Angiology, American College of Physicians, and the New York Academy of Medicine. He has lectured extensively on preventive health issues. He has published more than 125 peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, editorials, and book chapters in medical journals.

He is active in the SUNY Downstate, College of Medicine Alumni Association and is presently serving on the Boards of Managers and Trustees. He is also Past President of the Board of Managers of the Alumni Association. He is the current Vice Chair of Board of Trustees.
